What is PTFE ?
- PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a synthetic resin derived from the polymerisation of tetrafluoroethylene
- PTFE is commonly known by various trademarks such as Teflon, Hostaflon & Polyflon
- PTFE is a Fluorocarbon solid, as it is a high molecular weight compound consisting wholly of carbon and fluorine
- PTFE is hydrophobic: neither water nor waterbased substances can impact PTFE, as Fluorocarbons demonstrate mitigated London dispersion forces because of fluorine's higher electronegativity

- Combustibility (Can tolerate temperature up to 260°C)
